:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Kpar -- A wonderful tale of adventure, faithfulness and hope! : In A Carpenter Called Joseph, author, Ken Winter, weaves a wonderful tale of adventure, commitment, faithfulness, and hope for his readers. Using the backdrop of Scripture he took me on the faith journey of a man whose mission was to care for his family in the best way he could. He was rewarded for his faithfulness when God chose him to be a father to his own son, Jesus. I loved the way Joseph led Mary and his family and how this story highlighted the struggles they overcame with God's help. Even the way they helped their children understand the gift and responsibility they had all be given as the family gave me great encouragement and hope for my own journey. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Janet B. Burton -- Two Fathers and a Holy Son : Read this short book if you want to be refreshed with the story of Jesus’ early life until the day His earthly father, Joseph, died. We don’t get many pictures of Jesus’ boyhood and the perfect character he exhibited from Day 1. Read the book as if you were reading the best novel of your life, but realize that it is also based on the facts of the Bible. As I was blessed reading it, your own salvation and faith may be strengthened as you read, and you’ll be left with the peace and assurance that only God can bring. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Marie Johns -- The story line sticks with Scripture. : Yes, I liked this book. I have read them all I believe. Still, there were some points I knew were true, but I had not thought of them. Pleasant revelation. ( Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Connie Haley -- An Enjoyable and Rewarding Read! : This book could not have been released at a more appropriate time! With the Christmas season upon us and the Church having dedicated this year to St. Joseph, "A Carpenter Called Joseph" beautifully depicts the life, struggles, heartaches and hardships he faced as the earthly father of Jesus. It is a thought provoking, enjoyable and rewarding read. Ken Winter is a gifted and blessed author who skillfully portrays the lives of the people, gospels and stories of the Bible. I highly recommend reading this book as well as his collection of other biblical stories. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Reet -- Imagine being the parent of Jesus : A short read and a wonderful story that shares the birth of Jesus and how many Biblical prophecies were fulfilled by Mary and Joseph as Jesus’ earthly parents. Interesting insight into what life could have been with Jesus as your son. And how would you parent your son who is also your God? I hadn’t thought much about how Mary and Joseph’s life with their family and neighbors must have been like. Although we have no way of knowing how this story really happened, Mr. Winter gives us much to think about and new ways to look at what might have happened to this carpenter called Joseph and his family. Great read. Great discussion starter. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Nicole -- Getting to Know Joseph : “A Carpenter Called Joseph” is a delightful, thought provoking book to read. Itis a well- written book that gives us a look into the life of a man that plays an important role in the life of our Savior, but a man that we read little about in the Scriptures. After doing historical and cultural research, Ken Winter allows us to gain a better understanding of Joseph, the man God called to be Jesus’ earthly father. He develops the family that Jesus may have grown up with, as we learn more about who Joseph was and his interactions with his wife Mary, along with Jesus and his other children. Reading this opened my thinking to the possibilities of how Joseph lived his life as he raised the Son of God. It puts a humanness to Joseph, a man like you or me, and helped me understand how God calls each of us to play a role in His big plan. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Brittni -- Compelling & inspiring : This a compelling & inspiring book that allows us to take a deeper look at the godly man of Joseph and the many challenges that he faced in his life, while also being the parent of Jesus. We too, face many challenges in our lives and like Joseph we can face them with confidence because of the birth, death & resurrection of Jesus Christ. He is worthy of our worship & praise! Great book to read this Christmas! ( Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Brenda -- A Beautifully Written Story : A great story to read as we approach Christmas. What a wonderful journey this must have been for Joseph as God calls him to be the earthly father of Jesus. Ken Winter is able to bring life to the words he writes as he shows us what might have been, to see prophecy fulfilled, how God guided Joseph and Mary in each circumstance they encountered. We see their family as they grew and how they reacted to each other. The last chapter is so heart-warming. This is a quick read and I’m sure I will read it many more times. I highly recommend this book. ( Reviewed in the United States on November 1, 2021 )
